Privacy policy
Version 1.0, last updated: 6 October 2026
This English text is a translation; in case of any discrepancy the Dutch version prevails.
This policy explains which personal data SleepLab Holland processes when you visit our website, sign up for our introduction offer or sleep advice, contact us or order from us, what we use it for and which rights you have.
1. Who is responsible for your data?
- SleepLab Holland, located at Vloetweg 37b, 5841AS Oploo, the Netherlands.
- Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: 42066344. VAT number: NL869553215B01.
- Email: info@sleeplabholland.com.
2. Which data do we process, why and on what basis?
- Orders. Name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number (if you provide it), products ordered and payment status. Purpose: handling, delivering and invoicing your order, and providing warranty and customer service. Basis: performance of the contract and our legal bookkeeping obligations. Your payment details are processed by the payment provider; we do not receive full card details.
- Introduction offer and sleep advice. Your email address and the sign-up itself. Purpose: sending you the discount code and the sleep advice, messaging you when we go live and occasionally emailing you tips or offers. Basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email.
- Contact form and email. Name, email address, phone number (if you fill it in), subject and your message. Purpose: answering your question. Basis: our legitimate interest in answering questions, and, for an order or request, performance of the contract. Your name, email address and phone number may be stored as a contact in our webshop so we can link your question to your details. We do not send you marketing on that basis without your consent.
- Website and cookies. Essential storage in your browser (cart, language, your cookie choice and whether you have seen the discount pop-up) does not require consent. We only use analytics (Google Analytics) and marketing (Meta Pixel) if you consent in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page.
- Chatbot. The chatbot on our website gives fixed answers in your browser. We do not store the questions you type.
3. Who do we share data with?
We do not sell your data. We only share it with parties who need it to deliver our service, or where the law requires it:
- Shopify: our webshop, customer data, payments and sending emails.
- Netlify: hosting the website and receiving contact form messages.
- Payment providers: for iDEAL, card and PayPal payments.
- Carriers, our shipping software and suppliers who deliver an order directly to you: only the data needed for delivery.
- Our email and domain providers.
- Google (Analytics) and Meta (Pixel): only if you have given consent.
- Our accountant and public authorities, where the law requires it.
We make agreements with our processors about the security and use of your data.
4. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Some of these parties, such as Shopify, Netlify, Google and Meta, may process data outside the EEA, for example in the United States or Canada. This only happens with appropriate safeguards, such as an adequacy decision, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
5. How long do we keep data?
- Order and invoice data: 7 years, because of the statutory tax retention period.
- Sign-up for the introduction offer and sleep advice: until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent.
- Contact messages: as long as needed to handle your question, generally no longer than 24 months after the last contact.
- Analytics and marketing cookies: according to the lifetime Google and Meta set for their cookies.
6. Security
Our website is only available over a secure connection (HTTPS). We limit access to data to the people and systems that need it, and we only use processors that take appropriate security measures.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict processing, to object to processing and to data portability. If you gave consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect processing before that moment.
Send your request to info@sleeplabholland.com. We respond within one month and may ask you to identify yourself. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl). We would appreciate hearing from you first so we can resolve it together.
8. Children
Our website and products are not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
9. Changes
We may update this policy, for example when we use new services or parties. The latest version is always on this page, with the date at the top.
