A recurring question in the treatment room
SleepLab wasn't born from a marketing idea, but from a question that kept coming back.
In his work as a physiotherapist, Vince talks daily with people who prefer to sleep on their stomach. People who don't necessarily want to sleep differently, but do notice that their position doesn't always match well with existing mattresses.
Why are there so many mattresses for back and side sleepers, but hardly any solutions designed from the ground up for stomach sleepers?
That question became the beginning of SleepLab.
Knowledge of the body
As a physiotherapist, Vince looks daily at posture, movement and how the body is loaded. He noticed that stomach sleepers often search for a comfortable position for the head, neck, shoulders and torso — not because stomach sleeping is inherently wrong, but because few sleep products are developed with this position in mind.
Maybe it wasn't the sleeper who needed to change, but the mattress.
Raised among mattresses
As the son of a mattress maker, Sam grew up surrounded by mattresses, box springs and production processes. He later worked at a mattress and box spring factory, gaining hands-on experience developing sleep products.
A good product starts with a clear purpose.
Where physiotherapy and mattress expertise meet
Vince saw a group of sleepers for whom hardly anything was specifically designed. Sam knew how to turn that problem into an actual sleep product.
That combination is where SleepLab came from — not by adapting an existing mattress, but by starting over with one question:
"What does a stomach sleeper need from a mattress?"
Drawing on hands-on practice, knowledge of the body, and years of experience with sleep products, SleepLab One was developed step by step.
