Short answer: Measure the inside of your bed frame, not your old mattress. Take your height plus about 15 to 20 cm as a minimum length. SleepLab One is 20 cm thick and only suitable for an open base such as slats.
The three sizes
- 90 × 200 cm, the standard single size, fits most bed bases.
- 90 × 210 cm, for people taller than about 1.90 m.
- 90 × 220 cm, for people taller than about 2.00 m or who like extra room.
All sizes are 20 cm thick and have the face opening in the matching place.
Measure your bed base first
Measure the base itself, not your old mattress: over the years that has often sagged or stretched a little. Measure the inside of the frame in length and width, and allow for a surround or headboard that takes up space.
Rule of thumb for the length: your height plus about 15 to 20 cm. Then your head and feet stay on the mattress, even when you stretch out.
Base and foundation
SleepLab One is only suitable for an open base, such as slats: between the slats, air can flow along the underside of the mattress and through the face opening to your mouth and nose. Do not use the mattress on a box spring, a solid board base or the floor.
Bedding
An ordinary fitted sheet pulls the face opening shut. The fitted sheet with cut-out has an opening in exactly the same place and fits all three sizes.
